2nd DIREKT meetingThe Republic of Trinidad & Tobago is blessed with abundant reserves of natural gas, the exploitation of which led to the creation of the Point Lisas Industrial Estate and PLIPDECO over 40 years ago. Today, the Estate consists of 860 hectares housing over 95 tenants – world class methanol, urea and ammonia plants, three steel plants, a power plant, and smaller light manufacturing and service companies. The Port of Point Lisas includes specialized terminals for the safe and efficient loading of these products as well as six berths for the handling of containerized and general cargo. The port now hosts an average of 160 vessel calls per month.
